So many brownies

Everyone loves brownies...but we don't love wasting them!

213,707 brownies

That’s the equivalent of how many brownies we’ve wasted this semester!

Hey, it's Albi!

This week marked a big milestone (and not in a fun way) — we crossed the 20,000 lbs mark for food waste this semester! 🤯

But it’s not all doom and gloom, we decided to sweeten things up a little with this week’s analysis…

Check this out:

Yep, you’re reading that right. We see significantly more food waste on Wednesdays and Thursdays than any other day of the week.

When we convert the waste per person to brownies (because, well, who doesn’t love brownies?!), it translates to the equivalent of a whopping 2.6 brownies per person on Thursdays alone!

Those sad little brownie faces say it all 😢

But why should I care about brownies?

Even though it's not actual brownies, this contextualization helps us visualize the scale of food waste.

Imagine if we each reduced our food waste on Thursday by just one brownie. Over the rest of the semester, that's a huge difference!

  • Potential Savings: If we all reduced our waste by the equivalent of one brownie on Thursdays, we could save the equivalent of 19,320 brownies by the end of the semester — that’s a huge reduction in waste!

Thanks for being part of the movement! We’re excited to keep driving down waste together over the rest of the semester.

We’ll be back next week with more random waste facts. Until then, keep working hard and having fun, and remember to always eat smart!

Best,

The Albi Team
