That's one long line of burgers...
We've still got plenty of time to have a positive impact before graduation!
53,440
That’s the equivalent of how many Quarter Pounders we’ve thrown out since the start of Spring!
Hey, it’s Albi!
That’s a lot of cheese burgers, huh?!
Welcome to the first addition of the Bonnie’s Newsletter!
If you’re here, it probably means that you were gracious enough to let one of our obnoxious co-founders, Matt and Harry, talk you into signing up while they were on campus earlier this week — you’re a good person!

Although Tom Hanks isn’t actually on the Albi team, I’m sure he’s happy you’re here anyway…
To get things started, we wanted to contextualize the amount of waste we’ve seen so far this semester, because 13,000 lbs doesn’t mean much of anything to anyone.
So, let’s take a little look at the data, courtesy of the St. Bonaventure Waste Dashboard…
If we converted all of our wasted food this semester into Quarter Pounders and laid them out in a line, it would stretch 3.37 miles 🤯
That’s enough wasted burgers to stretch the whole way around campus almost 3 times — in just 6 weeks!
But we still have 9 weeks to make a change! And you might be surprised how much impact we can have in that time…
Small changes can have a big impact on our waste output
If each of us wastes 2 oz less each day (that’s less than half an apple) until the end of the semester, we’ll save an incredible 21,926 lbs by graduation – that’s five and a half miles of burgers! 😅
Big impacts start small. Let’s see how much impact we can have together by all being mindful of how much waste we’re producing.
We’ll be back in touch next week with more waste facts! Until then, have fun and remember to always Eat Smart.
Best,
The Albi Team
